What is carzylase?

Carzilase® is the registered trademark of a synthetic medicine that uses cocarboxylase (thiamine pyrophosphate) as its active ingredient, a chemical compound derived from thiamine which belongs to the line of medicines with nutritional properties, with an effect on the body’s energy metabolism

What is it used for?

Thanks to its mechanism of action, carzylase® acts as a coenzyme mainly in enzymatic reactions of oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvic acid, which in its next step allows the production of energy through the Krebs cycle and subsequent glycolysis in the cellular respiration process.

It has been used as a complementary treatment for:

  • Thiamine pyrophosphate deficiency.
  • The immediate reactivation of the Krebs cycle.
  • Acute, general or regional ischemic processes.
  • Cerebral or myocardial vascular accident.
  • Renal or mesenteric thrombosis.

  • Liver failure and cirrhosis, as an auxiliary medication.
  • Metabolic and diabetic acidosis.
  • Senile dementia and Alzheimer’s.
  • Wernicke’s encephalopathy and metabolic alterations due to chronic alcoholism.
  • Neuropathies in general.

Dosage and routes of administration of carzylase
